iNFORMATION FOR DEAF PATIENTS AND BSL USERS
All of our staff will have completed a basic deaf awareness course by the end of 2021.
If you are a British Sign Language user and require an interpreter, we are able to book this for you.
If you are entitled to NHS eye tests then there is no charge for an interpreter. If you require an interpreter, please email us in advance so we can arrange this rather than booking online.
Click the links below to email us or to check if you are eligible for a free eye test.
If you are not entitled to a free eye test we can still provide an interpreter but would not be able to fund this.
Alternatively, one of our opticians, Stephanie Lipsey-Liu has level 3 in BSL and has learned additional signs to enable her to carry out an eye test in BSL to the best of her abilities.
You can email us if you have any questions or to book an eye test or book online using the link below.
Please only book online if you DO NOT require an external interpreter. If you do require an interpreter then please email us instead. If you have to pay for your eye tests and want to book online, make sure you book in with Stephanie and let us know you are a BSL user. You’re also welcome to bring your own interpreter.
